Many people choose not to hire a tradie for those small jobs around the house, but it doesn’t take much for a home project to go awry.
There are so many hardworking, skilled tradespeople out there willing to help during a crisis and the internet has made them simpler to find.
“Technology has made it much easier to hire a tradesperson with confidence,” hipages chief customer officer Stuart Tucker said.
Before you hire a tradie online, make sure they have a track record of successful jobs and satisfied customers. After asking friends and neighbours who have used tradies in recent years, visit websites like hipages to see if those workers are licensed.
“The star rating of a tradie is a good indication of their reputation and you can even read the recommendations that local homeowners have given them,” Mr Tucker said.
“Another good thing to do is to check a tradie’s online profile for photos of completed jobs.”
Don’t be afraid to get multiple quotes. It will provide you with the market value of a job and ensure you won’t be overcharged.
“Using a platform like hipages makes getting multiple quotes easy,” Mr Tucker said. “Once you post a job, tradies will connect with you and share quotes, making it easy to compare.”
There are social distancing measures in place but tradies are still able to lend a hand. People can still post jobs online through the hipages app and tradies can continue to accept jobs.
