Ralph Carr (pictured, right) has finally found a buyer for his Hawthorn mansion.

The grand Victorian at 26 Shakespeare Grove (pictured, top) – within one of Melbourne’s most revered precincts, St James Park Estate – has been for sale since April.

The sports and entertainment manager paid $7.55 million for the five bedroom house in 2013, before embarking on a major renovation.

Former Richmond Football Club president Clinton Casey once owned the home – selling it in 2002 to move to the landmark Avon Court estate, two holdings away at 20-22 Shakespeare Grove.

Coincidentally Avon Court is for sale again carrying price expectations of about $40 million.

Mr Carr’s house, by comparison, was last seeking about
$11 million.

The sale campaign for 26 Shakespeare Grove has utilised a
mix of sales methods used including expressions of interests, and the citing of
a forthcoming auction.

It hit the market asking $12-$13.2 million.

On a 1318 square metre block it includes 12 principal rooms.

One of Mr Carr’s clients, footballer Dustin Martin, was playing in the billiards room of the Hawthorn house on the night he was interviewed by The Footy Show following a landmark c$10.5 million contract in 2017 to play with the Tigers for seven more seasons.

Mr Carr and Mr Martin have gone on to buy, renovate and rent out commercial investments in Melbourne’s inner east, including ones we reported about in this item at 25 and 29-31 Butler Street, Richmond and 367 Victoria Street, Abbotsford – the latter which they acquired in February for $3 million.
