The secret to happy holidays is a giant kitchen to churn out enough food for all the troops.

With Thanksgiving upon us and less than a month to Christmas, catering for a crowd can be a whole lot easier with a gourmet kitchen.

Countries around the world have been giving thanks for the harvest for centuries and on the last Thursday in November every year, it’s America’s turn.

US expats living in Australia (and plenty of Aussies getting a jump start on Christmas) will be giving their kitchens a workout.

34 Mareeba Road, Ashgrove.

We’ve found three on the market that will perform above and beyond, starting at 34 Mareeba Rd, Ashgrove, in Brisbane’s west, where former Queensland MasterChef contestant Sandra Moreno is selling her renovated home with a kitchen the size of a three-bay garage.

The kitchen has two 6m-long marble island benches with integrated bar fridges at the end of each, an integrated dishwasher and steam oven, and is supported by a fully equipped scullery and a cold storage room.

Tyson Clarke of Queensland Sotheby’s International is selling the six-bedroom house – which also has a nine-seater cinema, indoor pool, gymnasium, sauna, hot tub and ice bath – by expressions of interest.

58 Watson St, Newmarket.

Three gourmet kitchens feature in the five-level residence at 58 Watson St, Newmarket, in Brisbane’s inner north, with two self-contained apartments on level two and the main kitchen on level four.

This deluxe kitchen is a statement in marble, onyx and granite with an island breakfast bar, European appliances, gas cook top, integrated steamer, dishwasher and double door fridge/freezer.

Listing agent, Jordan Cleland of Clark Real Estate said there’s even room in this eight-bedroom, nine-bathroom residence to convert the bar into a fourth kitchen.

282 Monaro Rd, Mudgeeraba.

Supported by a central pillar in the middle of a communal pavilion with a 6m cathedral ceiling is the kitchen of 282 Monaro Rd, Mudgeeraba in the Gold Coast hinterland.

The engineered stone benchtops, Blum fittings, Pitt gas cooktop and Miele electric oven are standing by to help prepare a succulent Thanksgiving feast.

Karen McDonald of Gold Coast Property Sales is inviting offers over $1.6 million for this six-bedroom homestead on 3.76ha.
