Local real estate principal Brett Hunter has been elected by The Real Estate Institute of NSW as president-elect of the industry body, effective for a one-year term.
Mr Hunter, who heads up a number of Central Coast Raine & Horne offices will take over from current president Leanne Pilkington in 12 months time.
The Real Estate Institute of NSW is the peak industry body for real estate agents and property professionals in the state.

Mr Hunter will replace Leanne Pilkington of Laing+Simmons Corporation, NSW
The largest and most influential association of its kind in the state, REINSW represents thousands of agents across the state.
Mr Hunter’s father and uncle have been involved with the REINSW, but he is the first Coastie in memory to be appointed President. He said that when he started out in the industry, he did not expect to be where he was today.
“What I’ve always aimed for in my career is to help people and I think this is a logical extension of that,” he said.

“It is an honour to be voted into the position by my peers and the role is something I take seriously.”
Mr Hunter has been a strong advocate for the Path for Professionalism standards scheme, which aims to change the industry’s image and ensure that there is a refocus on the property consumer’s experience.

“Brett has contributed to the direction and strategy of the REINSW for 10 years, and is recognised within the industry as a strong leader and innovator,” REINSW CEO Tim McKibbin said.
“Brett’s enthusiasm and dedication means REINSW will be in good hands.”
The new REINSW Board was sworn in on Thursday, 22 November 2018 at the REINSW AGM.
