The New Year has seen a fresh wave of buyers looking for a retreat away from Sydney, with a house in Pitt Town the most viewed property in NSW this week.

The four-bedroom house at 90 Hall St on a 1,500sqm block proved to be a hit with buyers looking on realestate.com.au, clearly attracted to size and DA approval for a granny flat.

Up near Windsor and Richmond, the house has built-in wardrobes to all bedrooms, multiple living areas and a kitchen with stainless steel appliances and Caesarstone benchtops.

Outdoors there is also a kitchen and electric overhead heaters, as well as a fire pit, in-ground pool and cabana.

It is listed with Jason and Linda Hulme of Ray White Pitt Town.

House hunters are clearly on the lookout for value, with the second most popular home in Charlestown having a price guide of $650,000.

The four-bedroom house at 35 Jennifer St is on a large 1,018sqm block and is a classic bungalow with updated interiors.

Also on a very large block of over 2,240sqm, the country cottage at 812 Teven Rd is just 15 minutes from the beach and has a long veranda and farm shed.
