Wandsworth, a renovated Victorian-era residence at 371 Ryrie St, sold after auction for $1,637,500.

The generous backyard was a big drawcard for the new owners.
Hodges, Geelong West agent Marcus Falconer said the Geelong buyer had been eyeing off the property for a while.

“It was just the family aspect, the big north-facing backyard was the biggest thing” Mr Falconer said

Mr Falconer said a Melbourne buyer paid close to $500,000 for 373 Ryrie St the day before its heritage neighbour was auctioned.

Wandsworth was initially listed in May with price hopes of $2.1 million to $2.3 million before the subdivision.
Mr Falconer said the results vindicated the vendor’s decision to split the two properties.
