Crown Properties West End project at 117 Victoria St.
Sydney developer Crown Group has announced plans for its first Queensland project — a 462-apartment development on a 1.25ha riverfront site at 117 Victoria St in West End.

Crown Group chairman and CEO Iwan Sunito said since the company was founded in 1996, it had completed major developments in Sydney’s best locations including Bondi, Bondi Junction, Parramatta, Ashfield, Epping, Homebush, Newington, Pennant Hills and Rhodes and most recently the 28-storey V by Crown Group in Parramatta.

“We recognise market trends in changing lifestyles and economies, and quickly innovate to meet these new demands.”
Mr Sunito said it was the company’s ability to recognise trends in changing lifestyles and economies that led them now to invest in Brisbane.
“Crown Group is confident in the Brisbane apartment market, as we always look at the market carefully,” he said.
“Crown Group sees Brisbane as quickly becoming a true destination as it is very affordable with unit prices less than Sydney in comparison.
“Also Crown Group has identified a gap in the Brisbane market for well-designed luxury apartments.
The community will include a 25m pool, cabana and poolside lounges.
“For the Brisbane West End development we will use an ‘affordable luxury’ and ‘urban resort’ model.”
Mr Sunito said the group hoped the project would set a new benchmark for the area.
“We are confident in the Brisbane property market and we see Brisbane as on its way to becoming a global city with Queens Wharf and other developments bringing more people into the CBD and inner city,” he said.
“Brisbane is becoming a true destination with more people living in the city, creating a more vibrant and alive city.”
Mr Sunito said they planned to create an elegant and beautiful development with the shared garden space and Crown Group’s “signature” resort-style communal amenity including 25m pool, cabana and poolside lounges, barbecue facilities, gym, community room, landscaped areas, yoga/relaxation/breakout spaces, and rooftop spa and water feature.

“Crown Group submitted a development application for the site overlooking Brisbane River in December 2017 before we had settled on the property in June 2018,” he said.
“We are progressing through the approval process and expect to have DA approved by late October 2018.”
