WITH sweeping views out to the Gold Coast and the hinterlands, it is not hard to see why Gary and Leigh Poole fell in love with this Daisy Hill home 17 years ago.
The couple bought the 447-449 Springwood Rd house for their family of six, with four children growing up there.
There is a careful balance of brick and timber in this living area.
They renovated several times over the years, upgrading the kitchen and bathrooms, as well as knocking out walls to create a more open plan layout.
“It’s much more open than it was, but it still has a homely feel,” Mrs Poole said.
Mrs Poole said they also put down timber floors, painted, and renovated around the pool.
“The pool is in the centre of the house,” she said.
“It’s a good, safe area where you can keep an eye on the pool all the time.”

The tri-level property has bedrooms on each level, three of which are separate and private from any others.
On the bottom floor is a five car garage, workshop, storage room, two bedrooms and a bathroom.
The second floor has two bedrooms, a bathroom with a separate powder room, living room with a study nook, and a retreat.
The kitchen has all the storage one could dream of.
Upstairs is an open plan kitchen, living and dining, the main bedroom and ensuite, and another lounge room.
Out on the back deck is one of the Poole’s favourite areas of the home.

“We spend a lot of time out on the back deck, looking at the views,” Mrs Poole said.
“We usually eat our breakfast, lunch and tea out there in summer, it’s a lovely place to sit.”
While Mrs Poole believed the house would be suited to a variety of buyers, she would be pleased if it was bought by a family.
“We had a big family there so it would be nice to see another enjoy it.”
