Australian foggy autumn morning in Adelaide suburbs with rubbish recycling bins on the kerb
IT offers a good mix of family homes, many of which come with million dollar views. So it’s no surprise Burnside’s Greenhill Rd is Adelaide’s most sought after neighbourhood.
That’s according to a new report by realestate.com.au, which has listed the State’s top 10 most viewed streets, including Seaview Rd, East Terrace and Prospect Rd.
REA Group chief economist Nerida Conisbee said the data was based on property views over the three years to September 30, 2018, and only included streets that have had at least 10 homes listed for sale over that period.
“If a street had less than 10 listings over that period, those areas obviously wouldn’t have been picked up which is why main roads feature so prominently in this data,” she said.
“Looking at the data from a national level, it appears most of these streets are also generally home to properties that are high-end and quite luxurious. I think the same is true for Adelaide.
“As such, the data would have been driving by people just wanting to have a sticky beat and buyers looking around seeing what they can get for their money.”
According to CoreLogic, Burnside has 150 residential properties along Greenhill Rd, 26 of which sold over the surveyed three-year period.
Its top sale was 599 Greenhill Rd, which sold for $1.27 million in January, this year.
Sales agent Yianni Garbas of Harcourts VennMillar Cumberland Park said homes along the suburb’s popular main road were generally sought-after among family buyers.
Among such homes is 657 Greenhill Rd, which Mr Garbas is marketing via an expression of interest campaign.

“We get a lot of interest from predominantly young families with two to three kids that are in primary or entering high school,” he said.
“Even though it’s a busy road, it allows them to buy into Burnside at a cheaper price and will also put them into the school zones ring for Norwood Morialta High School and Glenunga International High School.
“While Burnside has a median house price of around $900,000, you can get a home on Greenhill Rd for around $800,000 … but still get those great city views.”
Seaview Rd, which stretches along West Beach, Henley Beach and Henley Beach South, also ranked high on the list.
The stretch of road has 832 residential homes, according to CoreLogic – 149 of which sold during the surveyed three year period.
It’s top sale was 8 Seaview Rd, West Beach which settled for $2.61 million in January, this year.
