Semi retired Sydney businessman Greg Milne is selling his incredible beachfront holiday apartment at 1/43 Ocean St, North Avoca.
A part-time director at Dusk, Mr Milne previously managed large retail chains like Myer, Dymocks and Sunglass Hut. He said that there had been “nothing better” than escaping to his Central Coast weekender.
“In the cooler months it has been a great place to go and clear my head. I can do some work from the apartment, go for a beach walk in the fresh air and then come back and work some more. There’s this artificial fireplace that is just so cosy in the winter.

Ocean views do not get much better than this.

The apartment has a contemporary vibe.

“Of course the place is also amazing in summer, being so close to the beach. We have spent almost every New Year’s Eve here with the kids.”
With 180 degree views of North Avoca and Avoca Beach, the location is simply breathtaking.
Extensive use of glass and open plan design perfectly capture the setting.
Mr Milne said that his favourite thing about the luxurious three-bedroom apartment was the mirrored splashback in the kitchen, which reflects the stunning ocean views.

A weekend escape that most could only dream of.

Flawless architectural design.

The property was originally a 1970s red brick unit block that was transformed into an architectural masterpiece.
Joining forces with his daughter and her husband, Mr Milne got together in a group of four to purchase the existing apartments and together they sourced their own builder and architect to construct something that showcased the incredible view.

What a transformation.

Steve Toia from Genton Architects, along with builder Murray Bolton of North Luxury Residential created four distinct apartments that were intertwined throughout three pavilions, with sectional articulation in floor-level, light admission and clever planning combining privacy with social interaction in the shared external spaces. The construction won them an Award For Excellence with the Australian Institute of Architects.
The eco-friendly property includes a massive concrete seawall underneath to fend off erosion, as well as a water tank that catches rainwater to power the toilets and garden hoses.

Mr Milne had planned on retiring to the property, but decided to do some more overseas travelling with his family.
He said that the sale will be emotional one, as his family had thoroughly enjoyed visiting the apartment, which was only 90 minutes from his home in Sydney.
The property at 1/43 Ocean St, North Avoca is for sale via Steve Nixon at McGrath Avoca Beach and has a price guide of $3 million.
