Eastwood gem ticks all the boxes

Written by The ReReport

A five-minute walk to Eastwood Shopping Centre, six minutes to Eastwood Public School and a leisurely 10 minutes on foot to the station.

This could be all it takes to sell 19 Clanalpine St, Eastwood when it goes under the hammer this Saturday.

Add that the property is 1011sq m with a 20-plus metre frontage and buyers prick up their ears.

Marianti Chan and Anthony Jasprizza from Anthony Trees First National – Eastwood are marketing the Federation house which is on a level block.

The property is on the market for the first time in about 40 years, Ms Chan said.

“The property is in a good location, close to the heart of Eastwood,” she said.

“The town centre is in easy walking distance and that is a big selling point.”

The circa 1908 house is not heritage listed, which broadens its appeal to buyers looking to knock down and rebuild.

“The house needs an enormous amount of tender loving care,” Ms Chan said.

“I would love to sell it to an owner-occupier who would like to preserve the house but buyers tend to look at the location and the big land size.”

Subject to council approval, the property could also accommodate a duplex, villas or daycare centre.

The north-facing backyard has an inground swimming pool and Federation-era workshed.

The house still contains original features such as timber fireplace surrounds, high skirting boards and timber-framed windows.
