A TWO-bedroom freestanding house in Annandale has been snapped up under the hammer $90,000 above the reserve price.
The house at 251B Johnston St sold for $1.39 million on Saturday, with four bidders registering and two participating.
Buyers loved the freestanding home.

An opening bid of $1.23 million started the auction in front of a crowd of around 30 people, with the buyer a local family purchasing as an investment.
Selling agents Robert Clarke and Michael Hallit of Belle Property Annandale had 120 groups through the inspections and issued 10 contracts.
“Buyers appreciated the home for its location and city views,” Mr Hallit said.
The downstairs area.
“The result is testimony that quality homes, even in a trying market, still perform well.”
Features of the house include a large deck perfect for entertaining, a gas kitchen, private courtyard and open-plan living.
The last time the property sold was in 2012 for $880,000.
A modern five-bedroom home in Concord also sold under the hammer for $2.15 million over the weekend.

The house at 70 Brays Rd was one of two sales by Dib Chidiac of Raine and Horne Concord this week, also selling a three-bedroom home at 61 Iandra St in Concord West for $1.42 million.
