A three-bedroom house on a corner block in Glenfield has been snapped up by a young family as their first home.

The contemporary home at 29A Northampton Drive was inspected by about 35 groups while it was on the market and sold for $721,000.

Built only six years ago, it attracted mostly first-timers from surrounding suburbs, according to selling agent Stuart Zullo.

“There were a lot of people who had been living in units and wanted to buy – taking the next step up to a large three-bedder with a bit of a yard and an ensuite,” Mr Zullo, from Professionals Paradise Realty Casula, said.

He said the new owners were moving into the area and had friends living close by.

In the Panorama estate, the two-storey house is on a 313sqm parcel of land.

Its common areas span the lower level and on the top floor are three bedrooms, all carpeted and with built-in wardrobes.

The buyers were able to secure the property for less than what the vendors paid. CoreLogic records show it last sold in 2016 for $760,000.

“Prices have come back recently, so buyers are taking advantage of that,” Mr Zullo said.
