The Glen Waverley chateau, only completed last month.

A grandiose chateau has been listed at what would be a residential price record of $5 million for Glen Waverley.

The French provincial-style castle at 33 Rose Ave would eclipse the sale of a similar style property on the same street for $4.975 million in a private sale in July 2017.

LLC Real Estate Mt Waverley director Andy Lou, responsible for both properties, said the new rose of Rose Ave had “pretty much everything” you could ask for, from the moment you opened the front door with fingerprint technology until the moment you curled up for a film in the basement cinema at the end of the day.

Having only completed the mansion for their own use last month, the vendors decided to move overseas and sell, Mr Lou said.

“It’s a brand new house, just completed in January,” Mr Lou said.

The property already had a potential three interested buyers, Mr Lou said.

The three-level property, with an astounding 760sq m of internal space, comes with two kitchens, five bedrooms, five bathrooms and a basement garage.

The stately entrance takes in a living room with a gas fire, a study and a bedroom with a walk-in wardrobe and private bathroom.

The main hallway then arrives at a grand open-plan living, kitchen and dining area.

Upstairs are four bedrooms, each with private bathrooms and walk-in wardrobes and a central open-living space.

Both fully equipped kitchens boast butlers pantries and marble finishes.

“Everything is polished material inside,” Mr Lou said.

Chandeliers are a feature throughout the home, which also includes an elegant water feature in the front yard, secure basement parking, video intercom and a cellar.

The current Glen Waverley price record belongs to this 51 Rose Ave property, some nine houses up the street.
