Masterbuilt Hamptons home in Seaforth.

The Hamptons style is still in huge demand on the northern beaches.
The latest Metricon showhome in Dee Why is a Hamptons style, there are dozens of them being built in North Balgowlah and Avalon Beach, and two are in Seaforth’s Peacock St.
This particular Hamptons home at 56 Peacock St is a custom-made one with several bespoke features and it is particularly large too with oversized rooms and a main bedroom fully 11.4m long.

Interest was so strong at the first open house that a second inspection day was organised for Sunday to allow families to inspect the home.
The five-bedroom, four-bathroom home goes to auction on Saturday November 10 through Stone Real Estate. The price guide is $4.2 million.
Brian and Corina Ward bought the north-to-rear block with plans already approved for a new Hamptons home. Their son Deeon is a builder with BHD Construction Group so the family was able to hit the ground running and build the house a previous owner had got passed through council.
Mr Ward explained that it was excellent experience for his son and everyone in the family had a hand in its interior.

Mediterranean-style bathroom tiles.

Corina Ward had the job of selecting tiles.
“I went through so many Hamptons houses looking for bathroom tiles I liked,” she said.
In the end she plumped for a big blue and white floor tile that works especially well in the large main bathroom.
The customised kitchen has a gas Smeg oven, 60mm thick Caesarstone island benchtops and spotlight-style hanging lights.
Made to measure Western red cedar bifolds were installed from the lounge to the Travertine-tiled terrace which faces due north.

The sheer size of this house is a feature. In addition to the five bedrooms, there is a dedicated home office and a formal lounge that opens to a covered deck.
Upstairs bedrooms are all large with built-ins, three have private balconies and one has access to the 10m long attic.
Outside there is a 10m pool and a level lawn.
The double garage with automatic door opens to inside and to the covered deck.
The property is a walk to city buses, the primary school and Seaforth village itself.
Agent Maria Cassarino, of Stone Real Estate, said the home on a 720sqm block ticks the boxes for families looking for the popular Hamptons style. It has north-facing level lawns, a swimming pool and large, well-lit accommodation.
“It is masterly-created with quality finishes that only attention to detail can provide,” she said.
