A TYPICAL open home in the busy Hobart property market can attract anywhere from 15 to 30 people. A
super-busy inspection might stretch to 70 or more.
But these figures pale in comparison to what the team from Harcourts Signature is aiming to achieve next month.
To celebrate the real estate agency’s fifth anniversary, it has teamed up with local radio station 7HOFM and is aiming to put Tassie on the map with a
500-attendee open home.
Harcourts Signature Rosny Park sales department manager Janeece Favaloro said the company had started its hunt for the perfect home.
“The winner will get a garden makeover, free commission on the sale, and free marketing, including all the bells and whistles,” she said.
“And 7HOFM’s Sarah, Mick and Matt will be broadcasting live from the house for four hours. They are running a ute give-away competition for people who attend live broadcasts, so anyone who attends our open home will have a chance to win a Mitsubishi Triton.
“Everyone who lists their home with us as part of this event will receive a complimentary marketing and property preparation package to help with the
sale of their home.”

Harcourts Big Open HomeHarcourts property representatives, Alex Spinks (left) and Mark Brudenell are hoping to attract 500 people to an open home.

Harcourts Signature and 7HOFM’s Biggest Open Home will be held on November 10 from 10am to 2pm.
People can register their home at, after which an agent from Harcourts Signature New Town, Northern Suburbs, Sorell or Rosny Park will be in touch to complete a complimentary market appraisal.
Harcourts Signature New Town property representative Mark Brudenell said the beauty of this promotion was that it was open to everyone.
“There is a lot on offer for the lucky person who gets their home picked,” he said. “Having that much attention focused on your property, it will be an outstanding advantage when trying to sell.
“An important thing to remember is we are not necessarily looking for your typical Sandy Bay mansion. The house that suits this event best might be a renovator’s delight.
“For anyone who is looking to sell their house, you want an agent who will go the extra mile for you, and that is exactly what we do.
“If you want to sell, you want to be a part of our Biggest Open Home event.”

Registrations must be received by 5pm on October 26.
