A NORDIC-STYLE apartment in Kensington has sold for $1.05 million at auction.
The two-bedroom unit at 6/16 Salisbury Rd sold through McGrath Coogee’s Nick Lennan and Tara Lennan.
Mr Lennan said there were two registered buyers on the day placing strong bids.
“The buyer who eventually bought it had expressed interest in another property we were selling in Daintrey Cres, Randwick, near The Spot,” he said.

“That was her preference but she missed out on it and we encouraged her to come and a look at this one.”
Mr Lennan said the property ticked a number of boxes for the buyer, who saw value in buying in Kensington.

“The apartment presents beautifully. It has that Nordic-style, Scandi look. The owners are in design and production with Scandinavian furniture.”
He said it could be a challenge to convince buyers looking in coastal suburbs such as Coogee and Clovelly to consider Kensington.
“The suburb of Kensington is close to the city and there will be easy access to the light rail, it’s only 300-350 metres down the road.”
“The area will transition pretty quickly once light rail is finished. We’ll see good restaurant and cafe options pop up. It will be restored back to its former glory,” Mr Lennan said.
