large percentage of auctions this weekend in one family suburb

Written by The ReReport

One of four family homes being auctioned this weekend in a popular Sydney suburb.

ALMOST 14 per cent of the properties being auctioned on the northern beaches this weekend are from the one leafy suburb.
There are 42 suburbs on the peninsula from Seaforth up to Palm Beach and 29 properties are being auctioned. But if you are looking for a family house in Forestville you are in luck because four of the 29 homes up for grabs are in this sedate and sleepy suburb.
Forestville is also relatively affordable too, its median house price is $1.55 million compared to $1.8 million for the northern beaches as a whole. Plus it neighbours the new Northern Beaches Hospital which opens later this month.
The four family houses being offered on Saturday, October 20, range in price guide between $1.295 million and $2 million.

9 Waterfall Ave, Forestville, hidden from view and close to Garigal National Park.

The most exclusive of the houses being auctioned is 9 Waterfall Ave, a three-to-four-bedroom house on 1300sqm of land well back from the road. This elevated home backing onto Garigal National Park could be straight out of the Southern Highlands.
Martin and Kim Le Grice fell in love with this very private property 23 years ago and said it had always reminded them of a country estate with parklike grounds.

The couple have loved the solitude and nature on offer, the waterfall in the corner of the block and even the occasional wallaby that has turned up to graze on the vast lawn.
“The birdlife is wonderful, with king parrots and bower birds … and we can hear the whipbirds,” Mr Le Grice said.
The onsite auction is at 3pm on Saturday and the price guide is $2 million.
