A HOUSE in one of Brisbane’s most expensive suburbs has changed hands as a family move back to the city after living overseas.
The tri-level home at 103 Ninth Ave, St Lucia, sold for $1.8 million after 53 groups inspected the property.
McGrath Estate Agents Paddington agent Alex Jordan said the house was bought by a family, originally from Brisbane, who had been living as ex-pats in the United States.
Mr Jordan said the size of the 1055sq m north-facing block was what had attracted a lot of interest.
“What everyone loved, and these buyers were no different, was the lot size, the usability of the land and the outdoor area,” he said.
“There was a beautiful entertainment area with a pool and a big patch of usable lawn surrounded by trees.”
The agent said the home was also in the Ironside State School catchment, and was close to Hawken Drive shops and the University of Queensland.
According to CoreLogic data, the median house sale price for St Lucia was $1,203,500, a figure that had skyrocketed a massive 8.6 per cent in the three months to November 2018.
