Of the four homes Rafal and Sandra Zuliamis have built, this Linden Park residence will be the hardest to leave.
From its sparkling centrepiece swimming pool and high-tech integration features to its wine bar and butler’s pantry, the property has ticked all the right boxes as family residence, Mr Zuliamis says.
“We’re definitely sad to leave. This is the fourth house we’ve built and it’s the best one we’ve done to date,” he says. “It’s a home you can just live in and enjoy. It’s easy, carefree and everything’s there where you want it.”
Mr and Mrs Zuliamis and their two children, aged 15 and 10, are moving to the Adelaide Hills, where they are planning a “slightly bigger” home. “We’re probably moving about three years earlier than perhaps we normally would have done, but an opportunity came up with a very special block in Aldgate,” Mr Zuliamis says.
Their 2014-built home was carefully designed to make the most of a Quartzon solar-heated pool and spa.
“We spent a lot of time with the architects working on the plans and making sure the rooms were as we wanted them,” Mr Zuliamis says. “I think the main thing is that you can see the pool from everywhere – the bar, the kitchen, the family room, the master bedroom and the study all overlook it. So the house wraps the pool pretty much … and at night when you put the lights on, it just looks fantastic.
“The facilities in the house are brilliant. It’s got pretty much everything in it. It’s fully automated through the iPad (home integration system), there’s Bang & Olufsen sound in the home theatre and loungeroom, two different airconditioning units and a three-car garage.”
Mr Zuliamis says his wife is particularly appreciative of the home’s butler’s pantry.
“It’s off the kitchen but it’s virtually a full kitchen in itself,” he says. “It’s got its own sink – and it’s very large. You can keep the kitchen clean … all your mess is in the butler’s pantry.”
The bar area is one of his own favourite features, Mr Zuliamis says. “It’s a full bar with a built-in wine fridge as well, so that’s a great spot. It’s got a dishwasher, too, so you don’t have to walk away with your dirty glasses.”
The home’s main bedroom has a dressing room of robes alongside a luxurious ensuite while the other bedrooms are airy and double-sized. An upstairs study takes working from home to new levels via a fold-down ladder from the three-car garage. The energy-efficient home also has double-glazed windows, heavy insulation and a 6.5kW solar system which all have a big impact on power costs, while low-maintenance grounds also add to its easy-care lifestyle.
Sliding automatic gated entry and a security system add peace of mind, while the all-seasons alfresco area boasts an outdoor kitchen for year-round entertaining.
Mr Zuliamis says the home is close to Linden Park Primary and Glenunga International High schools, while other quality schools – and the city centre – are within very easy reach.
“The area is fabulous – close to everything, close to the city, close to Burnside,” he says. “You’re 10 minutes from anywhere you would want to go.”
Mr Zuliamis says the home could tick the boxes of a broad range of potential buyers.
“I think it appeals to pretty well anyone,” he says. “Obviously a family can live there because it has all the facilities for family living … but it’s also going to appeal to those people who might be looking to downsize after their own kids have left home.”
