The new owner of a spectacular Brisbane riverfront residence has been revealed, and it is none other than our own Madam Butterfly.

Newly released property records show that swim star Susie O’Neill and husband Cliff Fairley, a respected surgeon, spent $5.6 million to secure the Frank Lloyd Wright-inspired 1225 sqm residence.

Described as a “one-of-a-kind” residence, it is sprawled over two titles totalling 1505sq m and has five double bedrooms, five bathrooms and a home theatre.


There is also a stunning granite kitchen, multiple living and entertaining spaces, a glass lift serving all three levels, a home office, library, a gym and an infinity edge pool.

Other features include a private pontoon and treehouse pavilion.

Records show the house was sold by Ray White New Farm principal Matt Lancashire after more 693 days on the market.

It was first listed for sale by expressions of interest in October 2017.

The Queensland swimming champion and eight-time Olympic gold medallist is now on Brisbane’s Nova 106.9 breakfast radio show with Ash, Kip and Luttsy.

O’Neill and Fairley, an ophthalmologist, sold another house on riverfront land at Yeronga for $3 million in 2017.
