IT WAS a layout that made sense in a part of Brisbane that handles summer better than most that drew the Beuermann family to 120 Kingsley Tce at Manly in 2016.
Michael and Sheryl Beuermann had moved up from Melbourne with work and wanted to sample the ‘best of Brisbane’.
The two level home they found has offered functional family living, as well as being a four minute walk from the foreshore and five minutes from Manly Village.
“We looked at a lot of houses and they didn’t make sense, the kitchen was upstairs, the pool downstairs,” Mr Beuermann said.
“If you’ve got kids, they have to come up wet to have dinner, it didn’t make sense.
“With this place, the kitchen and family living area opened to the pool deck, and there’s a big expanse for the kids who are an arm’s grab away if there’s a problem.”
Upstairs has a walkway to the master bedroom and retreat with a private deck, while behind, are two bedrooms with walk-in wardrobes and the main bathroom.
“There’s plenty of storage in our little girl’s room, and maybe, when we move, I’ll find my iPod,” he said.
A fourth bedroom downstairs provides a private space for guests.
“When you’ve got visitors from interstate, they’re downstairs with their own shower and at night time the family go upstairs to their private area.”
The family are relocating to Perth for their next chapter and RE/MAX Advantage Manly will take the property to auction on May 25 at 11am.
“But we’ve got a place just north of Noosa and that’s where we’ll retire to,” he said.
The house has a Balinese feel in keeping with the surrounding gardens and has been refreshed to promote its contemporary theme.
