15 Rosemont Ave, Woollahra sold for more than $700,000 above reserve
BUYER’S agent Janne Sutcliffe acting for her unknown client bought the last of the late media mogul Kerry Packer’s ‘grace and favour’ homes in Woollahra for $8,375,000, as much as $725,000 over reserve at an exciting Double Bay auction tonight.
The unusual curved two-storey residence at 15 Rosemont Avenue is one of two bought by Mr Packer in 1965 for £36,000 and he had offered them to friends and family.
The six-bedroom home with pool on 1000 sqm was being sold by billionaire James Packer via Ray White Double Bay’s Elliott Placks
It’s the last of the Australian properties James owns, though he bought a $60 million apartment off the plan at his Barangaroo casino.

The Woollahra home had briefly been considered as a matrimonial home by James and his former wife Erica more than 10 years ago.
His bachelor pad in Campbell Pde, Bondi Beach, sold for $29 million in August and Mr Packer has bought a home in Los Angeles for $82 million.
Mr Placks had three active parties bidding for the Woollahra property.

Bidding had opened at $7 million and risen quickly in $200,000 and $100,000 bids.
After bidding stalled at $7.65 million, Mr Placks emerged to advise auctioneer James Keenan that the property would be sold.
As Mr Keenan slammed down the gavel, Ms Sutcliffe advised her client on the other end of the phone to “listen”.
“It’s sold!” Mr Keenan announced.
