nothing left to chance in a house designed for a big happy family

15 Pelican St, Gladesville, caters to every family member and all ages.

KEEPING everyone happy was John Marinucci’s highest priority during the construction of his family’s new home in 2013.
Mr Marinucci and his wife Silvana were busy working parents so one major goal was to create a low-maintenance residence with a resort-style ambience that would never date.
But he also wanted a teen-proof and teen-friendly house that would work for their three teenage sons Alex, David and Dean.
The full-brick Masterton house built on the 569sq m corner block at 15 Pelican St, Gladesville, was upgraded in every way.
Mr Marinucci drew on knowledge gained from working in the commercial construction business for inspiration.

Doors and window frames are solid timber while door handles are superior to those found in standard project home packages.
The flooring is attractive and hard-wearing bamboo.
The five-bedroom house is airconditioned but fan lights have also been installed.
Mr Marinucci went all out to futureproof the property. It is NBN ready and MP3 with bluetooth sound systems are in the bathrooms.
The layout suits gamers, with a media room near the entrance and an upstairs rumpus/study provides another teen getaway.

In the backyard, the original garage has huge potential and comes with a toilet and shower. It is next to the inground saltwater pool, handy when the kids are wet and need to use the bathroom.
The resort-style elements can be fully appreciated in the main bedroom.
“I used to travel for work and stay in luxury hotels and I wanted that feel when I came home,” Mr Marinucci said.
A bespoke bedroom suite with panelling and drawers and a strip of LED lights evokes an ambient five-star glow.
Mr Marinucci also took inspiration from a wall finish he saw on a trip to the US and replicated it in the casual lounge zone where the recessed wall for the entertainment unit is covered in whitewashed floorboards.
It is one of many thoughtful additions that guarantees longevity for this happy home.
The property goes to auction on Saturday, November 24, through Mario Valensise and Luciano Galati at Devine Real Estate – Drummoyne. It has a price guide of $2.3 million.
