Host Gary Takle was impressed with the entry foyer.
Mr Parkinson enlisted the help of local builder Mark Le Maistre to design and build the house after deciding to make the move from Melbourne.
“All we did was find the block of land and basically handed it over to him and he created this for us,” he said.
The brief was to capture the view.
The protected outdoor area.
“We gave him the briefest of briefs, we wanted five bedrooms, maximum use of the view and lots of light and that’s pretty much all he got.
“Away he went and came back with this and it was exactly what we wanted.”
Mr Parkinson said his parents had a holiday house in Ocean Grove when he was two so it was like coming full circle now.
“I can take about 100 steps and my toes are in the water,” he said.
The house forms part of season three, episode two of Luxury Homes Revealed.
