78 Foster St, South Geelong sold under the hammer.
THE location and charm of a South Geelong house is what sold it to a young Melbourne couple at auction.
The house at 78 Foster St is in a sought after location walking distance to the train station, Barwon River and the CBD.
Three parties bid on the property before it sold for $600,000, which was the top end of the asking range.

Eastwood Andrews, Geelong agent Amanda Frick said one of the bidders hadn’t seen the house before the auction but it ended up selling to a young couple relocating from Melbourne.
“They are going to do some renovating, it needs a bit of work,” Ms Frick said.
“They were attracted to the location and the charm of the house as well as the studio out the back.”
The studio with rear lane access is a winning addition.
The double garage has a multitude of uses.
Classic period features are found throughout the two-bedroom house including leadlight windows, original fireplaces and timber floorboards.
At the rear of the property is a double-car garage with modern loft apartment above.
It is fitted with a kitchenette and bathroom and could be used as a studio, short-stay accommodation, home office or an additional living space.
The median house price in South Geelong has increased 14.8 per cent in the past year to $660,000, according to CoreLogic.
