2 Clarke St, Portarlington has broken the suburbs record sale price.
THE residential sales record has been smashed in Portarlington with a luxury house selling for more than $2 million.
The two-storey house with rooftop terrace at 2 Clarke St sold for $2.02 million, well above the previous sales record of $1.8 million at 50 The Esplanade.
Neville Richards, St Leonards agent Luke Campbell said this was a huge result for Portarlington.
“It sold to a Melbourne based buyer looking for a lifestyle property and maybe a retirement home at some point in time,” Mr Campbell said.

The ground floor consists of four bedrooms and an open-plan kitchen, meals area and loungeroom with bar.
The modern house has two living areas.

Upstairs is another open-plan kitchen, meals area and loungeroom with bar plus the main bedroom and a covered balcony taking in the spectacular view.
There is also a rooftop terrace that captures a 360 degree vista.
Mr Campbell said one of the biggest drawcards to Portarlington was the Port Phillip Ferries service from Portarlington to Docklands.
The ferry service has put Portarlington on the map.
