Potential key to family’s purchase in East Geelong

Written by The ReReport

TWO generations of the one family will benefit from the purchase of an original clinker brick house in East Geelong.

Noble and Jennifer Yamak beat strong competition to buy 2 McIntyre St for $526,000 on Saturday.

They shared their celebration with their son Dean and his partner Jordan Still, who plan to move into the property.

The potential of the two-bedroom house on a 557sq m block attracted four bidders.

Mr Yamak said his son and Ms Still worked at Geelong Hospital so the location close the city centre was a big drawcard.

“We’ll just give it a nice little tidy up and maybe put in an airconditioner,” he said.

Buxton agent Tony Moorfoot said the character property was in a great location, walking distance from the Garden St shopping strip and Eastern Gardens.

“You can literally walk to the CBD, everything is at arm’s reach,” Mr Moorfoot said.

“It’s an original clinker brick house set up to renovate or extend.”

A lime green kitchen bench and original interior timber details are some of the retro features of the house.

East Geelong’s median price has hit $650,5000 on the back of 13.1 per cent capital growth over the past 12 months, CoreLogic data shows.
