An original home on Lavender Bay’s Millionaire’s Row is for sale for the first time in close to 50 years.

The property at 20 Bay View St, is offering buyers a chance to own some of the lower north shore’s best views of Sydney Harbour.

And the price guide of $6 million, is a fraction of the $16.28 million street record, set in 2017, with the sale of 1/23B Bay View St; and the rumoured $10 million-plus that Metcash boss Ian Morrice and his wife Linda sold their Bay View St home for in March this year.

Getting a bigger loan is about to get easier

No. 20 is listed with Belle Property Neutral Bay’s Tom Scarpignato and Mark Jackson.

Mr Scarpignato said the property was one of the last original homes in the area.

“There are not many homes left in Lavender Bay that have not been renovated or rebuilt,” he said.

The 373sqm block comes with an older-style, solid brick, three-bedroom home with views of the Harbour Bridge, Opera House and Luna Park.

“A complete rebuild would allow you to enjoy uninterrupted views of the Harbour,” Mr Scarpignato said.

While the property does not come with a DA, the owners have invested in Allen Jack+Cottier architectural plans for a brand new home that makes the most of the site and its views.

“They factored in DA plans that are in play and what surrounding homes look like, to design a property that would be very accurate to what you could build,” he said.

Early interest is coming from developers, builders and families looking to downsize in the future.

The property is set to go to auction on June 15.
