THIS much-loved seaside home has been given a complete makeover to suit modern living.
Deborah and Gordon Hill purchased the property at 25 Langdon Ave, Margate in 2017 from the original owners.
“The people who we bought it off built the house in about 1958,” Mrs Hill said.
“You could tell it had been really loved. It had a beautiful feeling the moment we walked in.”
Mrs Hill said they renovated the entire house while trying to keep that feeling of a loved family home.
“It’s now got a loose Hamptons style, a beachy look,” she said.
“It’s a magnificent house with new kitchen, bathrooms, laundry, and master with ensuite.”
Upstairs, the home has timber floorboards throughout the living spaces and bedrooms and stone benchtops to the kitchen and bathrooms.
Downstairs, there is a foyer, living area, bathroom, laundry, double garage and storage area.
Outside, there is a covered deck overlooking the inground pool.
“We love the sun room — it has bay views and when you sit in there in the afternoon you have soft sea breezes coming through,” Mrs Hill said.
“We rarely have airconditioning on in summer because you get lovely cross winds when you open the back door and front windows.
“We also like to spend evenings on the deck by the pool, it’s so quiet and peaceful out there.”
Mrs Hill said the property would suit most buyers with plenty of room for cars, boats and trailers.
“My husband and I are on our own now and it doesn’t feel like the house is too big, but when family come, we’ve got all that space,” she said.
“The liveability is amazing, you’re no more than a 1km walk from shops, cafes and bars and only about 400m from the ocean. And the neighbours are beautiful.”
The home is being marketed by Loren Mulholland and Ben Smith of Ray White Redcliffe.
