A PREMIUM Barrabool Hills property with scenic views over rolling hills stretching all the way to Geelong has sold for $2.1 million.
A buyer with family in the area was the highest bidder at Saturday’s auction of 70 Walter Rd, Barrabool.
They had their heart set on an acreage property within 15-20 minutes’ drive of Geelong and the three-bedroom house on almost 20ha fit the bill.

Richardson, Newtown agent Matt Poustie said the stunning elevated position attracted several potential buyers, but several were unable to bid as they did not have finance in place.
Mr Poustie said the property was passed in to the highest bidder for $1,950,000 before successful negotiations sealed the deal.
“It was a stunner,” he said.
“They only come up very, very rarely and it was perfectly sized.”
He said buyers were drawn to the Barrabool Hills and Ceres area due to its easy access from both the Fyansford and Highton directions.
“It’s great for the long term in terms of schooling and they think that it’s the best lifestyle blue-chip pocket,” he said.
The vendors built the brick house, which was offered for the first time in more than 40 years, and positioned it to take in views of a neighbouring winery, canola fields, the Fyansford cement works and even glimpses of Geelong in the distance.
The property also has a winding creek, two dams, extensive shedding and a big vegetable patch.
