The house at 290a Ferguson Rd, Seven Hills, has been renovated and is ready for sale.
AARON Love enjoys renovating homes — and this is his latest project.
Mr Love bought what was a three bedroom, one bathroom Queenslander at 290A Ferguson Rd, Seven Hills, in March 2017, and transformed it into a five bedroom, three bathroom Hamptons honey.
Kick back by the pool.
“I moved it forward on the block and raised it 3.8m in the air,” Mr Love said.
“It took me a while to get the right design because the floorplan had to work for families, singles and all other people.”
One of the living spaces is open plan.
The character of the original house was what attracted Mr Love, and it was something he took into account when deciding on the style of the property.
“When I saw the character of the home, we decided to do Hamptons style,” he said.
“A couple of people gave me advice about keeping everything specific to Hamptons, so that’s why the kitchen and the colour scheme are Hamptons.”

However, Mr Love ensured a nod to the home’s heritage remained in a lounge room upstairs, which has ornate cornices and a pressed metal ceiling.
“The lounge room upstairs is the focal point of the whole house,” he said.
“When people go up the stairs, they see a beautiful chandelier and they see the old house at the centre of the home.
“I left the cornice to symbolise the house for what it was.”
Wine cellar “art”.
The property has other character features, like a bay window with city views at the front of the house, and a wine cellar under the stairs.
“A couple of mates and I were sitting around having a drink and we saw (the cellar) and I thought ‘we have to do this’,” Mr Love said.
“It’s like having a piece of art there, it’s just like a hanging picture.
“You don’t even have to like wine, it looks amazing.”
