A five-bedroom waterfront mansion has hit the market in Scarborough for a price that could smash the Redcliffe peninsular sales record.
The modern home at 10A Fortune St is up for grabs for offers over $5.5 million, which is $200,000 more than the current peninsular residential sales record of $5.3 million, set by 124 Prince Edward Pde, Scarborough.
The Fortune St property was designed by Vision 1 Architects and sits on a 1,156sqm oceanfront block.
Owner Eddie Zitka said the home was built about 18 months ago to make the most of the prime setting.
“I didn’t spare any money,” he said.
“For that location, we had to do something spectacular.”
The local businessman said every part of the home was high end from the marble kitchen to high tech elevator and the saltwater pool with ocean views.
Set across two levels, the house has a formal living and dining room with views over the pool to the bay, and a second living area opening to the patio with sea views.
The kitchen has marble benchtops, Smeg appliances and a full butler’s pantry.
A frameless glass staircase and an elevator both lead upstairs to the five bedrooms, each with a walk-in wardrobe, ensuite, balcony and ocean views.
The main suite includes his and hers walk-in wardrobes and an ensuite with freestanding bathtub.
The property also includes a cinema room, a three-car garage with full bathroom, and a rumpus room with bar, which is Mr Zitka’s favourite part of the home.
“The rumpus room was built around the bar and pool table, so I think both should stay with the house,” he said.
At the front of the home there is large office and the property includes a large boatshed with the potential for a boat ramp.
Mr Zitka said he could have built a home in one of Brisbane’s premiere suburbs, but he preferred the peninsular.
“I think Scarborough is better than places like Hamilton and (the home) is in such a beautiful spot,” he said.
“We’ve got no back neighbours, just Moreton Bay.”
Marketing agent Leon Rosenow, of Sell Exclusive Bribie Island, said in his mind, the property was on the best street in Scarborough.
“The way it has been architecturally designed is amazing,” he said.
“There are five bedrooms and each has a balcony and view of the water.”
