Sydney property for sale for 903 days

Written by The ReReport

One Sydney family has a simple Christmas wish — a buyer for its property.

For 903 days the family’s sprawling home has been for sale, open for viewing and promoted on an agent’s website.

It is a veritable Christmas cracker too with a long list of features from a fullsize tennis court, heated indoor swimming pool and fitness centre with gym, sauna and steam room.

There is even a practice golf-driving range.

Called Apadana the property at 317 McCarrs Creek Rd, Terrey Hills traded in 2006 for $6.8 million and the last advertised price was more than $10 million.

Last year owner Wonsik Kwon said as much as he loved the home he would love to sell it to someone as a Christmas gift.

“You can’t normally have a property like this in Sydney,” he said at the time. “The best thing about (it) is just sitting on the balcony, sipping a glass of wine and enjoying the view in the evening.”

Taylor Snell, of Sydney Country Living, confirmed this week that the resort-like property was still for sale, being advertised and was open for inspection to interested parties.

Terrey Hills in the northern suburb of Sydney and according to CoreLogic, residential real estate takes an average 55 days to sell. That makes Apadana a real slowcoach, it has already been for sale 16 times longer than the suburb average.

If buyers do purchase the house would be a wonderful place for summer relaxing. It is on 2.32ha of fenced landscaped garden. The cabana beside the pool has a built-in barbecue and sound surround for great parties and both levels of the house has extensive balconies and private terraces taking advantage of sweeping views.

Created in the contemporary Californian style the house was designed by award-winning architect Aladin Niazmand, the rooms are big and built around an indoor garden.

A quick search on reveals that Apadana has been on the market longer than almost every property on the northern beaches.

At the moment there are 1260 homes for sale on the northern beaches and the average time it takes to sell is 50 days.
