Leisure spaces have come a long way in home design, and having multiple areas to relax in is now high on the list of must-haves.
Many of today’s new-home floorplans respond with two or three leisure rooms, but the Osborne 454 by Burbank goes a step further, offering no less than five separate living rooms — two upstairs and three downstairs — to comfortably suit all your activities.
“This family home expertly integrates practicality with luxurious living,” Burbank managing director Jarrod Sanfilippo said.
Upstairs are a rumpus room and a kids’ activity room, allowing younger children and teens to have their own spaces to entertain.
Both rooms are generous in size, and the rumpus room also has access to a balcony.
The three relaxation spaces downstairs are an intimate lounge/library at the front; a large open-plan living space towards the rear (sharing space with the kitchen and meals area); and a home theatre at the very back.
“The home’s living spaces are well separated to give larger families the luxury of space,” Mr Sanfilippo said.
Outdoor living is also well considered. A large, covered alfresco dining area flows on from the meals area inside.
Unlike traditional double-storey designs, this house has a showpiece staircase located in the centre of the home.
Having the staircase opening on to large living areas, at both the top and bottom, adds to the sense of grandeur and wow factor. Timber treads complement the natural design materials featured throughout, and glass balustrading ensures light permeates the spaces.
“The staircase is also designed to partly conceal the kitchen from the living area,” Mr Sanfilippo said.
The kitchen has plenty of impressive features, including a 2.7m island bench with stone benchtop that wraps down, integrated dishwasher, 900mm appliances and oversized under-mount sink.
It also has a sizeable butler’s pantry with second sink and plenty of extra bench and storage space — what every home entertainer needs.
Bedrooms are zoned upstairs, where you’ll find each secondary room has a walk-in wardrobe and is within easy reach of the stylishly appointed bathroom.
Standout features of the main bedroom include a feature whitewashed timber wall, vast walk-in wardrobe and sumptuous ensuite with freestanding black bath.
The Osborne is available in five facade options, with the contemporary Teatree facade featured at Kalkallo.
