Tigers great Matthew “Richo” Richardson has been revealed as the buyer of an incredible Northcote house, snapped up hours after it hit the market.
The champion goalkicker and commentator signed contracts for a five-bedroom house near All Nations Park less than a day into the property’s campaign late last year.
Land title searches reveal the renovated and extended California bungalow was bought by Richo.
He splashed out $3.05 million, according to CoreLogic, well above its $2.7 million suggested selling price.
Jellis Craig Northcote agent Sam Rigopoulos was unwilling to disclose the buyer, but said they were a private client who inspected the designer house on a VIP night before making the offer on the first day it was listed.
He added the buyer had not made an offer on another property since mid-2015.
It is believed the former full forward lives there with his wife, Genevieve Holliday, and daughter, Zoey.
The house was previously owned by director of MLS Built architects Myer Scott, who designed it in collaboration with architect Hazel Porter.
