A Mediterranean style beachfront in Toowoon Bay has been snapped up prior to auction for $2.2 million.

Located in the heart of the suburb, the property at 2/156 Bay Rd was purchased by a local family who plan to live in it.

“The buyers fell in love with the view and the fact that there is something going on outside all the time,” agent Brent Speechley said.

“We had a couple of competitive offers, but $2.2 million was a standout, so the vendors were happy to wrap up the sale.”

Just a short walk to the shops with popular restaurants and cafes, surf club and Kim’s Beachside Retreat, this is arguably the best location in the suburb.

Overlooking spectacular ocean views, the three-bedroom house features arched windows with louvres that perfectly frame the outlook and a private courtyard with sunny mosaic tiled pool, spa and cabana, reminiscent of a glorious Spanish seaside escape.

On a smaller 202sqm block, the sale went for well above the bidding guide of $1.95 million and beat the street record held by 205 Bay Rd by $440,000.

Earlier this year, the suburb record for Toowoon Bay was quietly achieved with the off market sale of a property on Toowoon Bay Rd.

The 835sqm home at 119 Toowoon Bay Rd was purchased for a whopping $4.3 million.
