HOME buyers are snapping up quality homes at budget prices, with some agents reporting Darwin’s housing market is as busy as it’s been in two years.
To help buyers find their dream home, the NT News has found 10 of the best bargain apartments and houses for sale now.
Agents across Darwin say the market is encouraging more buyer activity.
“We’ve had more transactions in the first two months of this year than the previous two years,” said First National O’Donoghues agent Tim Mackenzie.

Real Estate Central’a apartment at 11/86 Woods St is on the market for $243,000
“There’s enough properties out there, there’s more numbers at opens and places seem to be selling quicker.

Knight Frank agent Mick Smith agreed and said buyers should take advantage.

First National O’Donoghues’ property at 27 Sandalwood St can be yours for $765,000

Properties across Australia are being discounted at record rates, giving buyers the opportunity to purchase their dream homes at affordable prices.
According to CoreLogic data, as of January 2019 vendor discounting in Darwin was recorded at -8.2 per cent, down from -6.5 per cent in 2018.
In regional NT vendor discounting was at -4.5 per cent while in 2018 it was recorded at -4.2 per cent.
The first home owner grant has contributed to the surge of buyer activity, the agents say.
“Since the grant we’ve probably sold three homes to first home buyers and two or three to people interstate,” Mr Mackenzie said.
“First home buyers seem to be seriously concentrating on Zuccoli,” Mr Smith said.
Real Estate Central sales professional Sascha Smithett has noticed more buyers were looking for properties to suit their personal tastes.
“Most people focus on the style of home they want,” she said. “Some people want louvres, timber floors or granny flats, some are looking for reno ideas or something perfect for the Darwin lifestyle.
“Darwin offers variety for everyone.
“There are some excellent buys, so if you’re looking to make a mo
