No. 20 Dunois St, Longueville, sold at auction for $4.885 million.

A couple has paid $4.885 million — $635,000 above the price guide — for a Longueville home right on Woodford Bay.

The result was one of the few shining lights in an otherwise bleak auction weekend, where the north shore clearance rate only managed to crack 44.83 per cent.

This was five per cent below Sydney’s 49.81 per cent.

The property is within walking distance of the ferry,

“Both bidders really pushed themselves to secure the property,” he said.

“They probably ended up bidding a lot more than what they expected they would.”

The five-bedroom home, on 775sqm, has a large backyard, space for a pool and all the characteristics of a family home. It is set in a quiet cul-de-sac, near the ferry wharf, schools and 10 minutes to the CBD.

Mr Courtney said quality family homes like this continued to be in hot demand from buyers.

“When you have a good family home up for sale they always do well, and get a lot of attention,” he said.

With a north easterly aspect, it has two balconies that both have water views of Woodford Bay.

The home also has a bar, airconditioning, gas heating, a double garage and X-core irrigation.

No. 20 Dunois St is one of three homes to sell on the coveted street this year. The highest record sale was in April when no. 18 sold for $5.5 million.
