The house at 21 Springsure Pde, North Lakes, is for sale.
WHEN Michelle Cox was in her early 20s her parents decided she was spending too much money on clothes, and urged her to buy a block of land at North Lakes instead.
It turns out it was one of the best investments she ever made.
The kitchen recently received a spruce up.
After Mrs Cox and her husband Shane got married, they built what would become their family home at 21 Springsure Pde.
That was 14 years ago, and they have made some changes since.
“We did a new kitchen, we kept the shape but changed it to two-pac and white,” Mrs Cox said.
“We left the granite benchtop the same, but we changed a lot of the cupboards into softclose drawers.”

The couple also created a rumpus room and playroom to provide more space for their three children, as well as adding an outdoor kitchen and a gas fireplace.
Mrs Cox’s favourite space in the home was the open plan kitchen and living space.
“It’s really big and great for entertaining,” she said.
“You can cook and your family and friends can sit down and still interact with you.”
Mrs Cox said another family favourite was outside, at the inground pool.
The fort has a slide and platform to jump off.
The couple built a fort with a slide next to the pool, which gave the children a platform to jump off – straight into the water.
On reflection, Mrs Cox’s fondest memories were the ones that involved her children growing up at the property.
“It’s the little things that stand out,” she said.
“When we did the extensions and put down extra concrete, the two little girls were just born so we put their little footprints and hands under the tiles.
“I brought my three kids home here, this is their home and so it will be emotional leaving.”
Mrs Cox believed the house would be great for another family.
The bedroom is large.
